Texture Tuesday, Volume 16

Linking up with Kim today for Texture Tuesday - the theme this week is yellow.

We went to Holland, MI for the Tulip Festival the day after Meredith's First Communion.  It was a nice day...could have been a little warmer...could have been a little less windy...but, it wasn't raining.  Most of the tulips were not in bloom yet, but we found a couple of patches on 8th Street that were in all of their glory!

Happy Tuesday everyone and have a great week!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 15

update:  well...wow...I posted this Monday night wondering why Kim never posted a Texture Tuesday post.  I was worried that something had happened in her camp!  Here's the official link -

I'm getting this in late, but...better late than never, right?!

Joining Kim today for Texture Tuesday...even though there isn't a link for today...I hope everything is okay.
I used kk_ruemarion, kk_way and kk_cora to edit this...and added a sepia filter, increased contrast and decreased saturation.  If you mouseover the image you will see the SOOC shot.

I looks vintage...I like it.

Have a nice week :)

Texture Tuesday, Volume 14

Linking up with Kim again...this week's theme for Texture Tuesday is...SIMPLE.

Life is a bit overwhelming right now so SIMPLE is good...

These are the only posts I've been able to do lately, but I really enjoy doing it :)

Can't get much more simple than this.  Edited with kk_justatouch in two layers; one in multiply blend mode and one in soft light.

I hope everyone has a blessed week!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 13

Linking up with Kim for Texture Tuesday.

The theme today is... perfectly imperfect.

I spent quite a bit of time on this and when I put them next to each other, I think I like the unedited version better - I guess that makes the edited version perfectly imperfect :)

I used kk_3003 and kk_0411 with a purple to orange gradient, increased saturation, and added a vignette.

I enjoy seeing what everyone accomplishes every week...I'm always inspired!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 12

Joining Kim again today for Texture Tuesday -

Today's theme is 'For the love of...' and I chose sisters.

These two are about 19 months apart and are joined at the hip most of the time.  They have very different personalities and that's what makes their relationship so endearing.  I hope they never lose this closeness...

Edited with kk_justatouch in Multiply mode

Have a great spring week!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 11

Linking up with Kim Klassen today - for Texture Tuesday -

I wish I could follow her more than I do.  Life does not allow for too much extra time spent on hobbies right now, but I know that all too soon I will have that extra time...so until then...

I used a watercolor filter in PSE first and then added a couple of textures and played around with opacity.

Happy Tuesday!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 8

Linking up with Kim for Texture Tuesday.

I don't know the name of this flower, but I shot it at the Greenhouse I visited Saturday.  It is edited with Kim's kk_0411.

It was -14F when we woke up this morning...

We have never seen weather like we've seen here in northern Indiana for the past couple of weeks...we definitely have snow and cold temps but not like this.  Looking ahead to a colorful spring!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 6

Linking up with Kim for...

This is our first day back to school so there will be a lot going on but I always look forward to Tuesdays!

{Above photos edited with Kim's ruemarion texture in overlay at about 50% opacity}

These past few snowy days make us all a little stir crazy, but we have enjoyed watching the sweet birdies and wondering how in the world they survive out there.  Fern has fun watching the birds too!

Texture Tuesdays, Volume 5

Wow...can't believe it's Tuesday...I'm all turned around this week!

Thanks to Kim for hosting...

edited with vintage processing and Kim's kk_3003 texture

Had to post something from summer.  This is from our new favorite beach spot, Weko Beach. The highs here are in the teens this week and the 'perma-cloud' has set in.  This picture makes me happy :)

Texture Tuesdays, Volume 4

edited with a texture called Sunday morning (I don't remember where I got it from)

I took the younger girls with me to Sarah's orthodontist appointment hoping to get some shopping done afterwards but the appointment was unexpectedly long, and we did get some of the shopping done but then it started snowing pretty hard so we just came home.

It sounded like much more fun to be at home linking up with Kim.

Texture Tuesday, Volume 3

Good morning!  I'm linking up with Kim for...

For some reason I knew right away what picture I wanted to use today... usually I search and search.  I'm not really sure this quote goes with this picture, but my 10 year old daughter approved so that was enough for me.

Now that I look at it a little more closely, I think the appearance of the somewhat bare branches symbolizes the simplicity of the stable, and the yellow flowers symbolize the brightness of His birth.

Have a great day!

Texture Tuesday, Volume 2

Linking up with Kim for Texture Tuesday!

Like Kim's, this is one from the archives, but for some reason I have always been drawn to it.

Edited with Kim's kk_isobel.

Since winter can be a difficult time to take photos in the Midwest, I end up getting some flowers at the grocery store once in a while to curb my craving for some snapping.  It works every time!

Have a great day!

Texture Tuesday

I've been so excited for Texture Tuesday!  It's so much fun to see what everyone does and be inspired by it.  I used Kim's kk_0411 on this and then one of Rita's painting textures on top of that.  (Before the textures were applied I did a watercolor filter on the picture).

Happy Tuesday!

Texture Tuesday

I downloaded a couple of free textures today from Kim Klassen.  They are really pretty so I decided to follow Kim's lead and start a 'Texture Tuesday' post here.  This is what I came up with using one of the new textures:

Using the 'screen' blend mode makes the images look ethereal...

From my view, it looks as if the print is difficult to read.  Hopefully you can see it better.

It might be nice to print these and hang them in the bathroom for the kids to see every day :) Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Kim!
